With a2bTV, you can watch satellite TV service over the Internet – inreal time, no matter where you are. You will have to subscribe to asatellite TV service, but instead of hanging a dish on the chimney andrunning cables through the walls, a2bTV hosts your satellite equipmentin a secure data center and provide bandwidth and other technology toautomatically stream your satellite TV over the Internet.
Using the latest Slingbox technology and carrier-class hostingsolutions, a2bTV allows you to stream high quality satellite TV signalsover the Internet to your TV, laptop or desktop PC.
All you need is a high speed internet connection. There is no hardwarerequired. You just sign up for a satellite TV account and a2bTVprovides the hosting. You can also add S-Video and Audio to RCA cablesand turn your TV into a home entertainment video screen.
How it works: a2bTV manages your Slingbox and DVR in their data centerin Los Angeles. They keep it connected to multiple OC192 internetuploads providing their customers with the highest quality video andsound available today. a2bTV monitors and manages all hardware. Theyeven provide training on how to use the remote control and DVR and aDVR concierge service to record shows for you upon request.
Programming starts at $79 per month. There is also a one-time start upfee of $199.00. This includes installation, equipment and your firstmonth of hosting. Whatever programming package you choose, the feeincludes what you'll pay per month for DIRECTV® programming and a2bTV'shosting. You can add HD channels for $499 (optional). There is anadditional $9.99 charge per month for HD from DIRECTV®.
There is no contract for a2bTV hosting service. However, a 24-month contract is required for DIRECTV®. If you cancel early, there will be a cancellation fee ($20 X the number of months remaining on your contract). Once you return to the states, and no longer need a2bTV, you can keep DIRECTV®'s service and have it installed at your home. a2bTV will send you the receivers. |
